Hi! My name is Rachel, and I’m a a 31-year old housewife from the Los Angeles area.

I was always proud of my body when I was a teenager, all the way into my mid-20s. I had a feminine figure that was firm in all the right places, not musclebound but without any of the pesky flab which can start to develop once you’ve fully developed. I was happily married, yet still enjoyed the admiring looks I got at the beach, at the gym, and even at the supermarket.

Then I had my first son in 2012. While I was pregnant I saw the “baby weight” start to build up, but I’d never had a problem staying in shape before, so I wasn’t overly concerned. To my surprise, though, I couldn’t get rid of that extra 20 pounds – so it stayed with me as I got pregnant a second time. And with each pregnancy, I added another 20 pounds or so. Over the period of just a few years I went from being the “hottie” in my group of friends, to the plump mommy, to the fatty who everyone still loved.

I didn’t love myself anymore, though. I topped out at 40 pounds over my ideal weight, and I was embarrassed. My regular trips to the beach and the gym, and my fashionable outfits, went by the wayside as I pretty much stayed at home in my sweats, ashamed to go out.

Determined to lose at least some of the weight, I went to the gym when I could force myself to leave the house. I tried all kinds of diet pills and “miracle” weight loss and fat burning supplements. I researched all of the fitness magazines and websites I could find, and tried every type of diet out there: the Atkins diet, the South Beach diet, the Mediterranean diet, the Zone diet. I even tried Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig. I bought tons of expensive exercise equipment, and most of the “Burn Fat And Get A Smokin’ Body!” programs advertised online.

I spent thousands of dollars. But other than a little temporary weight loss, I got nowhere.

About a year ago I came across a program which seemed promising, the Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide. It combined simple, consistent exercise with a strict diet program, and seemed promising, at least at first. I lost about ten pounds over two months with Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide, but gained it all back because the program was just too demanding and too difficult to follow religiously.

How I Finally Lost 40 Pounds Within Three Months!

My Bikini BodyThen I found Jen Ferruggia’s Bikini Body Workout, which looked similar to the Itsines program but turned out to be very, very different. It was realistic and effective, and within five months I had lost all 40 pounds – and even more incredibly, built the type of bikini body I had when I was in my 20s. I didn’t really believe it was possible, but the weight’s still gone and I’m once again getting those second and third looks from guys at the beach and the gym. I’m still happily married, but it’s great to be admired! 🙂

I decided that with so many women looking for the type of results I had, and the number of scammy weight loss, body-building programs that simply don’t work, it might help people if I started my own blog to share my story. I post articles on health, weight loss and nutrition that I find interesting, along with reviews and accounts of my own bikini body workout experiences – with the hope that people like you will find the information useful in achieving your own goals for a better body and better life.
